I was arrested for shoplifting in bookstore of my university, how to deal with the issue about renewal of visa and reentry to US

I was caught shoplifting a T-shirt of 32 dollars in bookstore of my university three days ago, and the LP called the campus police officers. They arrested me, and booked me in LA county jail. I was fingerprinted and photoed. Now I got a ticket to go to court. And I hired an attorney. I am really scared now, and worried about the outcomes.I want to know that how can we make the best outcome, which will not affect my renewal of F1 visa and reentry to US in the future, and also my future job?
You need to make sure that when your attorney talks to the DA and works out a deal he checks first with an immigration attorney who knows the immigration consequences of criminal convictions in California, and you take a plea that does not make you inadmissible in future.
Most prosecutors will be sensitive to your immigration issues especially when this is a relatively minor (but nonetheless potentially problematic) offense, Make sure your plea considers potential immigration consequences, which ideally involves your criminal defense attorney consulting with an immigration attorney. Preferably, you get something like a conditional dismissal. Good luck.
Shoplifting is a crime involving moral turpitude and carries immigration consequences. You need to consult with an immigration attorney before you accept any plea deals.
