What will happen if I don't pick up a certified mail sent to me from the neighbor harassed me?

I received the temporary restrained order against my neighbor who was sent harassment e-mails to lots of my neighbors and me two months ago. The temporary restrained indicated no face to face contact, no phone call and no mail. However, I failed to get restrained order at the court hearing two weeks later. The judge said he was on the cutting edge. However, the judge couldn't give me the restrained order and asked me to accumulate more evidences to make the case possible. Today( two months later), he sent me certified mail. The carrier put a note for me to pick up certified mail. What will happen if I don't pick up a certified mail sent to me from the neighbor harassed me?

This is not a legal question. It depends on the contents. If you do not sign for it, you may never know what it contains. If you do, you might be unpleasantly surprised but at least you will be able to take any required action. I vote for signing for it and asking the carrier to deliver it. I never make a special trip to pick up certified mail. If it truly is important, a copy will also be sent snail mail.

The simple answer is NO. The other attorney is correct. The answer depends on your level of curiosity. After a short period of time, the USPS will return the certified mail as uncollected. It may be a peace offering in the form of a settlement proposal. It may be the additional evidence the court is attempting to collect. Or it may be a summons and complaint he is trying to serve upon you. If you are okay with not knowing, leave it alone.
