What's worse? Failing a drug test or not taking the test while on probation?

I am on probation for a DWAI. I got a letter from my probation for revocation of probation. Nervous that I would have to go to jail I smoked marijuana to calm my nerves and to build up the confidence to come back and face the music. It's been almost two weeks since but I was asked to get back to random testing. I'm pretty sure I would fail but not by much. What's worse? Not taking the tests or taking the test knowing I might fail? Should I just disclose the issue with my probation officer before taking the test to let them know that there might be a chance Ill fail?

Both options are bad for you, but you are on the right track by working with your PO. Ultimately, they are the ones who will decide whether to file a complaint against you to revoke your probation. If you have a good relationship with them, they may be understanding to your slip ups, and will work with you to continue on with your supervision. Good Luck!

If you have an attorney have them work with your PO regarding what is going on. If not consider getting one. If not, consider coming clean with your PO and work with them regarding what to do next. A missed UA is a failed UA. It is usually better for you to come clean and work with the PO. Good luck.

Either will revoke your probation. If you haven't been smoking regularly for a while, and you just smoked the one time, THC is likely out of your system now. Buy a THC urine drug test and test yourself, and you'll know ahead of time. I have to say that abusing marijuana to soothe your nerves because you're afraid somebody's going to discover you're abusing marijuana is one of the silliest ideas I've heard all day. Nevertheless, good luck to you.
