How long does it take to receive interview date for my parents' case after NVC saying they have received document for the cases.

I received an email from NVC about 2 months ago saying that they have received all necessary documents to complete my parents' case for immigrating to the USA. They will notify me as soon as the interview date have been scheduled. I have been waiting for about 2 months. I wonder why it takes so long to get an interview date and how long I will be waiting to receive the interview date. I am a U.S. citizen. Thanks.
I just called the NVC to update the case and they said it can take up to 2 years to receive the interview date. Is that truth? My parents are immediate relatives, why it takes so long? If it is truth, is there any other way to speed up the case? Please, help.
It won't take 2 years. The NVC has been backed up for the last few months and it is taking 60 days at each transaction. If the case is complete, you should receive an interview date within 2 months.
NVC has been backed up in recent months. They are taking approximately 60 days to process documents that are sent to them. Once NVC notifies you that everything is in good order, and that they are now ready to schedule the interview, then you must wait some more time until NVC is actually able to schedule the interview at the consulate. The wait time for an interview at the consulate could differ depending on the country. Best wishes.
It should never take 2 years to receive an interview date, that is nonsense. NVC is severely backlogged so it is taking 60 days to get an interview notice. If your wife has not received her interview notice 60 days from the date of the letter/email confirming completion of the case, you should contact the NVC by mail as well as phone to get a status update.
