Can I petition husband through I-929 for Resident if I married him After U-visa was approved?

If i marry after my adjustment of status through I-485 supplement e ( u visa holder) will I be Able to petitionhim through I-929 gor his adjustment of status. Would it benefit him better for me to marry him before sending my I-485 application?

You may petition your spouse after you become an LPR Yourself. The spouse is not a derivative of your U visa approval. See an expert on the procedure for adjustment of status.

Hi! A spouse should have been included in the original U-visa application. Once your U-visa is granted, that one step process for a spousal benefit is lost through the U-visa petition. But you can petition for a spouse if you have a green card of your own. PWK
