What is the statue of limitations when reporting Auto Repair Fraud?

11 months ago I drove my car in for a CV Joint repair. Was called to pick up the car because it was fixed. Paid the bill, got in the car to drive it away, & it wouldn't start. The owner tried to start it, couldn't & said he'd call me the next day with information of the problem. He called the next day & said the timing chain had broken. He told me he'd junk my car for me. Do I have any legal recourse. Another mechanic determined the timing chain is fine, but the car was either overheated, or run without oil. This caused low compression in my valves. I had the oil changed before bringing the car in. The other facility was the one that informed me of the CV Joint. I called around for prices, and found the second repair shop. Now, I have no car. Any legal recourse? Please inform.

You are still with in the statute of limitations since it happened 11 months ago. The Statute of Limitations for Breach of written contract is 4 years, but I suggest you act right away.
