I work as a Principal Consultant (equivalent to program manager) and report into a Practice Head (equivalent to director) currently. In my US role, I will be managing a multi-million budget and function but not necessarily having direct reports. But will have indirect authority over the team and oversee functioning of a large business process. My employer wants to proceed with L1A. I have 10 yrs experience in the same company. Is this the right visa under functional manager role?

Not knowing all the details, it's hard to know if this is your best option, but, generally speaking, it is certainly possible to get an L-1A as a functional manager.
