Can I move from Colorado to Texas under unsupervised probation?

My sentence was DUI deferred, one year unsupervised probation, I have a offer job in Texas, and I want to move over there before the year is over. Can I do it without getting in trouble later one?

It depends what the terms and conditions of your deferred judgment and unsupervised probation are. You need to review your paperwork to be sure you know whether leaving the state without permission is a term and condition. If it is, you need to file a motion with the court to gain permission. If it is not, you likely are free to leave, but you still must complete all your terms and conditions in Colorado unless the court has given permission for you to complete these elsewhere, You also need to keep the court updated with your address and ensure that you are submitting proof of compliance to the court.

Mr. Orr's answer is right on point. You need to check the specific terms of your deferred sentence. If it is unsupervised, you are likely to be ok, but it is still a good idea to check with the court first before you leave, and to have all your conditions done beforehand. If you show the court you fully complied with the terms of your d/s, it is more than likely you will not have any issues if you want to relocate to Texas. But play it safe just to be sure you don't run into any problems.

You'll likely have to go into court to get permission.
