My son was released on may 3rd from prison after 2 years for drug felonies he was arrested dec 4th and they are saying he is going back for another 2.5 years. He was on unsupervised probation and of course gave a ride to someone who left something in the car. He was arrested for a traffic violation and it was found. I am hoping he can get, house arrest, supervised probation, anything but more prison time. Please Help!

If your son cannot afford an attorney, a public defender will be appointed by the Court to represent him, free of charge.

Try contacting law schools in your state to inquire about whether the law schools criminal law clinic would be willing to take this case. Otherwise, the case will be handled by the public defender's office.

As a repeat offender who was associating with people committing felonies who was out on probation is going to go to prison for a new felony, barring a miracle. The public defenders will take your son's case if your family cannot afford to hire one. I suggest trying to locate a skilled attorney here in the valley and tapping savings or other resources to defend him. Good luck.
