I was at the store with friends. They stole got caught the manager snatched me up. Checked my bag I had nothing he let me go. While I was walking out the store he pushed me and called me the B word. I turned around and punched him. I was young and it was just a reflex I was shocked that I got pushed and called a B. I went to jail they charged it as a assault 3. I am currently on probation and soon will be off I am trying to better myself for my family I have a 5 year old son and a baby on the way. I would like to get in the medical field as a medical assistant or a CNA. Please tell me I have a second chance at life..

If you were found guilty as charged (convicted of assault in the third degree), you cannot vacate your felony because it is classified as a "crime against persons." RCW 9.94A.640. I explain clearing criminal records and vacating convictions on my website: www.expungewa.com

Unfortunatel, a third degree assault conviction cannot be vacated in Washington State and Unlike some states Washingto does not have a provision to clean up your record short of full expungement.. However, you can take action to limit the collateral consequences of your conviction by staying out of trouble with the law and paying all the fines you owe. That will put you on track to permanently restore your voting rights and put this episode behind you.
