Do probation officers in Connecticut usually make you serve the whole time of your probation?

I was sentenced to a class B misdemeanor with 2 years of probation. I have met all the conditions of my probation including taking required classes, have had no issues, and have never missed an appointment for probation. If I understand it correctly if you are convicted of a class B misdemeanor and given more than 1 year of probation, the probation officer has to make a recommendation to the court about whether to end or continue the probation around the time that you have served 1 year of it. I was just curious what the chances of it ending early are since the only requirements that I have left are to meet with probation and not contact the person who accused me.

I have helped many defendants end their probation early. It is very possible! You should consult with an attorney to help you with the process. Best of luck to you!

Typically when someone approaches the half-way point of their probation, the office of adult probation files a motion to terminate that probation.... If all conditions have been satisfied, the court often grants the probation. Your best bet is to complete all conditions before the half-way point of your probation; when your PO files the motion to terminate the probation early, the court will have not reason to deny it. Don't hire an attorney as your PO may do the job for you. Good luck
