What can I do if a USPS carrier forged my signature?

Business 3 views 3 answers
My package was lost but the carrier said he delivered it to me and received my signature. I called USPS to file a claim and they stated that the carrier didn't get a signature, the a week later I called again they stated to me that the carried said that he knocked on my door and I signed for the package. Few days later I called and talked to the city manager and he stated that he called the carrier and he said that I was sitting on the porch when he delivered the packaged and I signed. I am getting two different lies. After I kept calling about a week later now my signature showed up which I didn't sign.

You may want to go down there and find out how to file a formal complaint...I assume they have some sort of investigation process. Beyond that, you can report the incident to the authorities. Because it involves the mail, it would likely be the federal authorities. Good luck

This is not a criminal law question. Contact USPS and explain that you never received the package. There have been some cases in the news of thieves signing and stealing packages. You need to fie a claim for the lost package. If it was insured, you may get compensation. If not, you may be out of luck.

You need to file a complaint with the postal service - they are in the best position to investigate this and figure out what happened and what the best next step is.
