That message is published for more than a week now, I requested for infopass back on december 13th and it is granted for dec 29th, can I walk into the office with that infopass in order for them to stamp passport as I want to travel to Mexico, or is there something they are going to ask besides that status in their webpage.
Let's start by my pointing out that you didn't tell us what kind of greencard you are going to receive and if you were in 100% legal status in the US before the I-485 was filed. Yes, this makes a difference.
Let me also point out that, as eager as you are to go on vacation in Mexico, your greencard is probably more important and I encourage you to be patient and wait for the card ... it will probably show up in the next few days ... probably before your InfoPass appointment.
You need to remember that yesterday was a holiday and the mail service has gotten backed up in the past 2 weeks with millions of people sending last minute presents.
Even if you don't have an 'invitation' letter, they can give you a temporary stamp ... IF YOU HAVE GOOD REASONS. How do you show this? Airplane tickets and hotel reservations 'should' work.
If you're just going to drive across the border to visit relatives for a few days ... I encourage you to re-consider this trip and postpone it for a few days.
It may take from 2 to 6 weeks to receive the green card from the stage of "card production", just be patient a little bit more. We know it's frustrating, but you are right at the finish line!
Be patient. Once the government elves get back from their tour of duty at the north pole, they'll be back making plastic green cards. Seriously, they can be very very fast at this point. I'm usually surprised how quickly people get their cards. Just watch out for the mailperson putting the envelope in the wrong box. As long as your neighbors know your name, they can always save the day if that happens. Congratulations!!!
