California - Failure to yield traffic infraction

2 views 3 answers
On a green light, I turned right onto the rightmost lane on a 4-laned one-way street. There are a total of 8 lanes, 4 going northbound and 4 going southbound; the lanes are divided by a median/island. At the same time I turned right, a pedestrian stepped off of the median. The four lanes on the northbound road are approximately 32 feet wide. I was cited by the officer for failing to yield to a pedestrian. The citing officer was not in plain view and was parked next to another officer in another police car. How does one proceed?

One proceeds by pleading not guilty and setting a traffic trial when one wishes to contest the citation. One could also retain a traffic attorney to handle the matter professionally. Good luck.

Call and schedule free consultations with local speeding/traffic ticket attorneys.and pick the one you like, trust and can afford. Prices are often very reasonable ending with you saving money. Mr. Finnecy lays out the other approach well. Good luck to you. Hope these answers help?

Hire a lawyer to represent you for any chance. Failing to see the cop is immaterial. Drivers must always be looking for pedestrians.
