What kind of fine can I expect for a littering ticket (1220A, threw/deposited refuse near hgwy/etc) in New York?

I received a ticket for littering. The specific violation was 1220A. The description was something like "threw/deposited refuse near hgwy/etc". From what I have found, I anticipate the fine to be a maximum of $350, with a maximum of 10 hours of community service. Is this information accurate? I have already plead guilty, but I would like to have more confidence about what punishment I am facing.

The amount of the fine as well as the court costs should be written on the back of the ticket. Both combined will probably come to about $500.

If you pled guilty to violating VTL 1220(a), then the maximum fine is $350.00 with a surcharge of either $88.00 (in a City Court) or $93.00 (in a Justice Court) with a maximum of ten (10) hours of community service. Beyond that, there's no way to know what punishment you're facing. Should you receive a traffic ticket in the future, you would have more confidence in predicting your punishment by hiring a traffic ticket attorney who could negotiate a plea for you with the local District Attorney.
