Can I contest a no refund policy?

I was looking to move and had paid a guy to help me get approved because my credit was not all that great. Before he would start on my file, he also required a deposit equal to first month's rent in addition to a full month's rent. On top of his office fee for doing applications and all. I never gave the deposit and rent so he never started my file although he collected a fee. I changed my mind about him and want my money back but he is refusing although he never rendered any of his services. I took a look at the receipt and it does say no refunds, but he never performed any services for me.

There are certain laws in Texas regarding credit repair services. I would have to review them, but you should be able to review them to see whether you have any rights. Then, contact an attorney for assistance. It should go much easier with an attorney.
