Traffic Violation

Are these criminal violations: insurance lapsed at time of car accident and I was issued a ticket for no insurance. Plus a ticket for failure to yield when I was hit from behind.

Best to check with your local state laws for sure, but usually these types of citations are infractions-which means they are not criminal charges. Traffic law attorneys in your area can challenge these citations so that your points do not increase your insurance costs and they can help protect your driving record. Be aware of timing deadlines to challenge infractions-take action immediately per the ticket.

Lapse on insurance and failure to yield are both traffic citations. Whether the charges rise to a more serious level depends upons whether there were any injuries, your prior driving history, etc...? Check with a lawyer in your locale to discuss more of the details. To avoid getting more difficulty, you might hire a lawyer to represent you in traffic court. Good luck to you. God bless.
