If this is his first criminal offense, he is most likely "probation eligible". Your question, however, requires more of a response than I can give in this forum. What he is likely to receive depends on many factors, including whether we are talking about a plea agreement or whether you want to know what he would be facing if he were to lose at trial. Of course, an attorney would want to sit down and assess the strength of the State's case against him and possible defenses. In short, you would benefit from speaking to a criminal defense attorney who will take the time to listen to your case and discuss the options with you. Many attorneys will provide free consultations. Good luck.

The worse would be jail, but even if probation is granted he will still have a felony on his record. He should speak to an attorney immediately.

It depends upon a variety of things. I suggest you contact a criminal defense attorney and get his/her advice.
