Should I file for a DNA test

Divorce 3 views 4 answers
Wife and I are going through a divorce. The last thing she said to me but she denies in court is that the child isn't mind. Would it stir up a nest with a judge to ask for one? Will it hurt my involvement with my child?

The next time that you have possession of your child, go get a mouth swab DNA test and find out. You don't need a Court Order for that.

You should consult with a lawyer about your specific situation. The answer will depend on the age of the child and your relationship. The child's best interest will be the main thing the court considers. DNA testing may be a part of your process.

There simply are not enough facts in your question to give you a definitive answer. At a minimum, you will need the assistance of a lawyer.

If you have any doubt you must ask for a DNA test or you simply try to agree to have it done without court intervention privately Yes there may be some hard feelings with other parent and child. Some would not care whether they are biologically related if they are bonded and have raised the child as their own. But if genetics is important to a man he should seek a test during the divorce. Consult an attorney for full discussion of your facts.
