Sorry, I ask this before and researched the Texas Rules and can't find. I just wanted to know how many days before the hearing I must submit a response. In texas state District Court.

You are not going to find it in the Texas Rules. Check the local rules of the county where the suit is pending and the rules of the specific court where the matter is pending. If neither provide you with a prescribed amount of time, you should make every effort to have it on file 3 business days before the hearing if you expect the judge to have time to read it. (But I have seen lawyer's file them in Harris County state court on the morning of the hearing).

Check the local rules for the court you are appearing in. Good Luck!

You do not have to file a response in Texas court. It is frequently advisable to do so as many judges (and all of the best ones) review the pleadings before a hearing. You do not want the judge to hear your position for the first time at the hearing. In any event, preparation of a response forces you to evaluate your position and get your thoughts/arguments in order. Rule to live by - NEVER go to the courthouse without an attorney. If you can't do it by mail, you need a lawyer.

You won't find the answer in the TRCP. See if there are Local Rules of Practice adopted by the Court
