Is there a California State list of delinquent child support names?

I think that my brother in law is trying to steal $30,000 from my Mother in law. He says that he owed child support to the State of Georgia but settled it and paid it off. Now however, he says the State of California is trying to collect the same child support that Georgia settled with him. The question, is there a public record list of people that California compiles for delinquent fathers? Thank you, Steve Ventura, CA

Steve, Unfortunately, the answer to your question is no, but you should be able to piece together a better idea of whether or not he's telling the truth. The child's mother should have been living in California at some point in time. IF he was once married to the mother and she registered her case here in California, you should be able to look up the specific case online in the county in which it was registered. You won't be able to get specific details without physically seeing the file, but you'll be able to see if there is a child support order here in California. If he was never married to the mother, those records are unfortunately sealed. I completely understand your concerns, as the facts presented do not appear to add up. I would definitely encourage you to find out more information in case your brother-in-law is trying to steal money from your mother-in-law. Best of luck.
