Implied Warranty of Habitability, and Water Quality of a Private Well

2 views 1 answers
I moved into a residential single family rental home in Downers Grove on 10/1. Upon moving in (and noted in inspection), we noticed that the water, from a private well, was of less than desirable quality for drinking, bathing, or laundry due to excessive iron. We called well inspector to check well, and inspector found that it was not the well, but the water heater, filter, and softener causing issue. We have contacted landlord with no avail since move in (repair and deduct limit is half estimated cost by qualified professional). Would this fall under implied warranty of habitability? Will water professional be adequate, or will we need Downers Grove to inspect water?
