Child Custody 3 views 4 answers
My child goes to a babysitter 3 days a week so i text him to see if he was going to pay since its his week, he declines and says no. I asked him when he was going to start paying and he said he was going to block my number.

As Catherine said, you need to file a motion to address the financial issues. His doing what you describe is worth a one line mention, but the bottom line is that you may not receive reimbursement prior to the date you file your motion (not guaranteed either way, but it's a risk). I know it's a little intimidating, but if you can't afford an attorney, you're going to have to take the time and do this on your own. Waiting doesn't help. If the two of you were married (and you therefore are a filing a "post-judgment divorce motion", start here: http://www.judiciary.state.nj.us/prose/10483_po... If the two of you were never married, but there is already a support order in place, follow these instructions and use these forms: http://www.judiciary.state.nj.us/prose/11487_fd... If the two of you were never married and there is no support / custody order in place, follow these instructions and use these forms: http://www.judiciary.state.nj.us/prose/11492_fd... ,

Sure he can. You can block his as well. A court order is what is needed to get money.

Payment for work related child care can be included in a child support order so that the money is paid to you every week and you pay the sitter. Enforcement takes place through the court instead of you calling him directly. File a complaint or motion in court and get his contribution for child care in an order and paid through child support. Using his phone to bug him about payment isn't useful and results in him blocking calls to stop you from calling him (probably repetively) on the subject.

Yes, he can block your number. Clearly, it is not productive in terms of the ability to communicate regarding the child. So the two of you will likely wind up back in the courtroom wasting taxpayer money because you can't get along with each other.
