I do not understand the reference to "criminal simulation," but, in Illinois, identity theft may be charged in different ways under 720 ILCS 5/16-30, et al. Many individuals charged only with identity theft may be eligible for probation, but you should immediately consult with an attorney licensed in Illinois to discuss all of the pending charges and the facts of your case.
Most of these cases contain theft and forgery components. They are probably not done charging you. They will wait to see monetary damages and how long the personation went on. You will probably be eligible for probation. Whether you will actually get it will turn on how anti-social your actual behavior was and how devastating the impact to victims might have been. Your clean past will count for something but you are better off inventorying positive (as opposed to simply non-negative) acts in your life. Make sure you are lawyered up. Your specific acts will be important here.
As was pointed out, you need to be talking to your own lawyer, there, about this. If at all possible, you want to avoid a conviction, not just avoid jail. Long term, you are better off getting jail and avoiding a felony conviction.
