Plumber 'insured' was to remodel bathroom paid him thousands, which created many issues, can I sue him?

Plumber knocked down 3rd bedroom wall decreasing it under legal bedroom size, now have a 2 bedroom. He never asked and made no sense. Also crack are forming in celing and walls since he did it in October. Shower / tub didn't work (hired someone to come in and fix). He placed sink at a very high height, in an area which we were told is a code violation & must be, also put hardwood strips sealed with painters caulk, no water sealants in bathroom. New plumber starts next week to fix wall and replace support back, fix plumbing, and to top it off other plumber used original sink and tub, yet claims for supplies cannot prove. Now wants $300 back to replace supplies although we expected tiles and bathroom has no tiles. Is this a frivolous case. As we have so many new issues now we didn't have

I suggest that you consult with a lawyer who handles property damage cases. You are probably going to need an expert witness.

The fact that this plumber was "insured" does not give us enough information to tell you what to do. I do not see any mention of licensure and I do not see any steps you took to ensure that you were hiring a licensed and bonded plumber. I also do not understand why your plumber would knock down walls and modify room dimensions. You do not tell us exactly what instructions you gave him. So the impression I get is that you hired some guy to work on your home while his licensure was defective or non-existent. He may have come in as a plumber to fix pipes but perhaps you instructed him to work on walls perhaps in a gesture to save some money. These gestures to save money always cost money. Suing this guy may very well lead to a win assuming you pay a lawyer a lot of money and retain an expert witness (another plumber). You will end up with a judgment you may never be able to enforce because this guy moves like a shadow in the night passing himself off as a home improver where he simply collects money from deal seeking owners and then wrecks the place and disappears.
