Have there been any lawsuits in regard to withdrawal from Effexor or Effexor XR?

I had been prescribed Effexor XR and in 2008 due to edema with pain it was thought the Effexor might be causing it. My counselor had me wean off of it very slowly but even doing it slowly the withdrawal effects were horrid. My moods swung back and forth at a moments notice, I was suicidal and I felt just plain crazy. It was awful. (Just an aside I tried and my daughter tried to contact my counselor because I was suicidal and she neglected to get back with me). Those withdrawal effects lasted three straight months then off and on for another three months. (After just about every medical test you can think of I ended up being diagnosed with fibromyalgia).

Your best bet is to google the drug and lawsuits. Most of the claims have related to birth defects, but there have been allegations of suicidal ideations.

A quick google search led me to this link: http://www.steadyhealth.com/Effexor_Class_Actio... Please take your time review the post and comments. I skimmed through it and it appears you are no alone when it comes to experiencing similar side effects you mentioned. Contact the author of that post and I am sure you will get more info.
