What you should do is hire a lawyer who specializes in minor traffic offenses. That attorney can best advise you of the nuances of the situation and advise you how to proceed.

The fines for this offense range from $200-500. There will also be either an $88 or $93 (depending on the type of court) added to whatever fine is imposed. You should also be aware that there is a possible jail sentence of up to 30 days, but that would be extremely unlikely unless you are leaving out very important information. A 74 day lapse is pretty long (2 1/2 months). You should really consider hiring an attorney to handle this matter for you.

You should be able to get this charged reduced if you have no criminal history and a reasonably good driving record. Hiring an attorney will almost certainly make things easier.
