Is there anyway I can get my case dismissed?

On 10/03/2013, there was a dispute between myself and a female whom I had mutual friends with. To keep the situation short, she claimed I threatened to (and I'm quoting the police report).. "f*** you and your sister up". A coworker took her side. I didn't appear in court because I moved out of state. I checked rhode islands court connect online and didn't appear to have a warrant. Three days ago I searched my name online and my name came up on Massachusetts warrants 2015. I went to the court house and had the warrant removed. I was nervous and the women said I was not eligible for a court referred lawyer because my mother owned a house. so I agreed to represent myself. I have no idea what to do. I would like the case to be dismissed. The Chargers are "threatening to commit a crime".

Assuming this is a misdemeanor, if you are going to represent yourself your first opportunity to plead your case would be at your pre-trial date. If unsuccessful you have the right to a trial. If she doesn't show, case dismissed. If she shows you will be over your head. Contact one of us at for a legal opinion before going to court.

This case could have serious consequences for you, and is not a substitute for law school and experience.
