I have a traffic ticket from last year 2014 and I need to get a state issued ID. Can I still get a Texas ID at the DPS office

if I have no warrants with just a ticket? I'm scared not sure if I have a warrant I missed my court date. So going into a DPS office I may be arrested. What should I do?

First thing to do is to call the clerk where the ticket was issued. There will be a clerk there who is interested in telling you to pay money. They are not going to jump out of the phone and hurt you so call them.

You need to start by calling the place where you got the ticket, i.e. there is a "told to appear...." section that should have date/place - call them and find out status of ticket. There is a good chance you'll be able to remedy it quickly. You may go to DPS; however, as you stated, you're not sure what might happen and even if there isn't any type of warrant, you will still have the issue of the unresolved ticket.

Call some local bonding companies and give them your info - if you have any warrants - they should be able to pull it up and give you the info on the warrant so you can clear it before you go to DPS.
