Power of attorney

Child Custody 1 views 3 answers
Cps put my kids in a temporary placement but now they want to close their case. They want me to give my mom temporary power of attorney. They won't give my kids to my husband because they say were a couple and they feel like he won't protect them well enough. My question is can I give my husband power of attorney? Or something like it? Can I write a letter and get it notarized saying I'll stay away from my kids as long as I go to court although they said me beeing around is not a problem but its a sacrifice im willing to take so my husband can get custody. Someone please help. We are so broke I can't afford a lawyer. Will my plan work?

Your best bet is to start working on yourself... then hire an attorney. Apply for legal aid.

Yes you can do as you propose but they probably will not be happy and content with anything less than a court order because they will correctly believe anything less gives the child no protection and them no peace of mind and to them even that is not good enough.

It is hard to tell without reviewing your case. Your best option would be to get an attorney or at least consult with one.
