What are the requirements to be released on house arrest or work release from a San Bernardino County jail?

My boyfriend is currently at Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center serving a 270 day sentence. He has applied for work release/house arrest and would like to know if anyone knows the requirements to be released on either?
This is pretty much at the discretion of the sheriff. He probably wouldn't serve more than 135 days in the jail anyway, so, by the time his request is reviewed, he'll be done with his jail time. Work release should have been worked out on the front end of the deal, not now. Speak to his attorney. Glen Helen isn't that bad of place to spend 3 or 4 months.

Court Approval in San Bernardino County.
Without the judge approving it, no go. If he signed a plea agreement to do straight time and NOT home arrest, he will not get it.

The San Bernardino Sheriff's Department has expanded the inmates that qualify for work release. They have a website explaining the program. I suggest you google "San Bernardino County Work Release Program."
I'm not certain of the requirements, but would suggest you contact the attorney who represented him to ask this question. They would be most familiar with his case and how work releases is decided by the Sheriff's. Agree with Mr. Finnecy, these things are usually worked out before any deal, but does not mean it can't be pursued now. He will most likely only serve about 1/2 of his sentence, possibly less....so it may not matter. Best of luck.
