What is the statue of limitations on paying medical bills in the state of Tennessee?

I have two medical bills that I was making paynent arrangements on with the hospital billing department. Today I recieved a statement from them for a procedure that was done in September of 2007 at a separate facility that is part of the same company. This hospital system has several different facilities. I was not aware of this owed balance and in no way discussed it with them. Am I obligated to pay this bill or can they sue me for it? How do I handled this and not reopen the door to start a new statue of limitations on it. I am supposed to contact them with fax number so I can sign papers for accounts I was discussing with them but not sure how to handle call should they bring up this account. Please help.

Tennessee has a six year statute of limitations for contract actions. I'm happy to write a letter. Basically you should not be talking to them.

I agree with Mr. Lee. The 2007 bill seems to be off the table. I would not recommend making any payments towards that bill. I hope you have not signed anything yet. Please review these negotiations with an attorney before signing anything.
