My uncle died a bachelor and his sister was signed on to his bank account. Since he was never married and has no children, who is entitled to his accounts and his estate?

The laws of intestacy within the state in which your uncle died will govern as to who gets the estate and in what share(s). Get a consult with a local attorney to get the exact details down pat.

Hi, I agree with the fine answers of Counselors Carrier and Early. You should seek a consultation with and experienced probate attorney who is located in the state(s) your uncle and/or his property resides.

Any asset he owned upon death that was in his name only, will pass into his estate. If he has no will, the PA intestate succession statute dictates who inherits from him. In this case, his siblings and the children of deceased siblings will inherit from his estate.
