Change of status while waiting for a green card for L1B/L2B holders

I am a holder of L2B visa, my husband is on L1B. My employer will sponsor our Green Cards. The questions are: - Can I maintain my status and continue working while waiting for my Green Card if my L2B visa expires before I get Green Card (I have 3 years left)? - After I-140 approval can we both my husband and me apply for AP/EAD? Can my husband change employer or does he need to maintain his L1B visa with existing employer? Thanks

You can maintain status if and when you apply for adjustment of status ( FORM I-485) after you have maintained your L2B status. You can not obtain the EAD with only the FORM I-140. If your husband is the derivative , he can change employer upon receiving the EAD.

You cannot maintain L-1B status beyond 5 years.

The two processes are not connected or mutually exclusive. No, since EB3 category is backlogged so you will not be able to seek adjustment of status until after the priority becomes current.
