I have a warrant would I be arrested getting title transferred?
Anonymous2 views2 answers
I recently purchased a car and need title transferred. I have a warrant for driving without insurance. I Don not need advice on the warrant I need to know the likelihood of being arrested when transferring title.
Do you have insurance for the new car? If not, you can't transfer title anyway, so there is no reason to take a chance on being arrested in the office of a county agency. You would be better served by addressing the warrant now while you still have cash, the cash would have to use to pay the sales tax on the transfer of title.
People with outstanding warrants should avoid courthouses. The likelihood of being arrested is not what you should be concentrating on. If you find yourself in a jail cell, asking yourself "what were the odds" is not going to make you feel any better.
It may have been a wiser decision on your part to spend your money taking care of the warrant rather than using it to buy a car. In any event, you should take whatever steps are necessary to resolve this issue as it is just a matter of time before you get nabbed.
