Well, if you are currently on probation, there may be no method for clearing this from your record, but once probation is terminated you should be able to clear if from showing up on standard employer background checks. You might even be able to file for an early termination of probation- call a local defense attorney to inquire about how to go about this and to discuss whether it is feasible in your case and court.

If you didnt make a deal up front that it could come off your record at the end of your probation, then the DA might be correct I would consult an attorney if this is the only trouble you have ever been in. If not, your screwed. There is a new law that passed a couple of years ago that allows you to get certain convictions off your record if it is the only trouble you have ever been in. I cant think off the top of my head if DV convictions are excluded from the new expungement law. This would be the only route for you to have a realistic chance to get it off but Im not sure if you are eligible. Good Luck!

To have a definitive answer, hire a lawyer and him for an hour of his time to research your exact situation. Generally, you cannot expunge a DV conviction.
