My Car was parked in front of my house legally and was hit by a driver driving too fast during a snow storm. The driver called 911 and the operator stated, since there was no injury, we can exchange insurance information and have them fix our cars. It has been three days and the driver insurance informed me, they are waiting to get a statement from the driver until that happens, they cant do anything for me. I cant get my insurance to fix my car because I only have liability insurance. I need the car to go to work. what can I do. I don't have money to hire a lawyer. thanks

Dear Woodbridge - Most folks turn the claim over to their own insurance company, who will get your car fixe, provide a rental (if you have that coverage) then pursue the at fault driver. Good luck.

Mark is right. Turn it over to the insurance company and let them deal with the stress.

I am sorry you are facing this problem. Since you only have liability insurance, you are somewhat at the mercy of the other insurance company. In the event you have the funds available, or a credit card, you may go ahead and rent a car from a rental agency to use while the insurance company is playing their game. Your claim then would include reimbursement for the car rental expense you incurred. Good luck!
