Anonymous5 views5 answers
so my interview is tomorrow and i would like to know if i still need to send a copy of my co sponsors passport and taxes to the interview......i dont have it now since he is outta town or it is okay since we have already mailed it with the earlier forms when the process started
If you submitted the joint sponsors most recent federal income tax returns and tax schedules (e.g. W-2s/1099s) and proof of the joint sponsors permanent residency or US citizenship with the filing, you will not need to bring these documents with you to the interview. Best of luck.
Why do you think you should bring them with you? Were you asked to do so? Did you keep a copy of the FORM I-485 and all documents that you attached? Generally, if you mailed them with your I-485 application, you do not need to bring to the interview.
Since you submitted proof of your co-sponsor's US citizenship and income already those documents should be in the USCIS file and you should not have a problem at the interview. Bring originals of all documents you submitted copies of that pertain to you and your petitioner to the interview, however.
You have more than likely forwarded to USCIS the co- sponsor's federal tax return and proof of citizenship or LPR status in order for USCIS to have issued an appointment notice. You should take to your appointment a copy of all the documents ( and complete file) that you forwarded to USCIS. Good luck to you.

Should be OK for you not to resubmit the joint sponsor's most recent tax returns and proof of either US citizenship and/or LPR status, since all of this was already submitted and received at the case filing stage, and if there was anything incomplete or additional that was needed you would have been "RFE'd" within a few months after having filed the case, which has luckily not occurred, meaning the case is complete and all the necessary documents have already been received and nothing more is needed. Good luck at the interview!
