So lets say a 17 year old bears a child to a 20 year old, however she knew him for a long time and was willingly in a relationship with him, the parents of both partners knew the age difference, but whats likely to happen to the man and the baby? Will they have to go to court? What if parents don't press charges? What if the girl gets kicked out from home? Please answer these questions.
It matters when the baby was conceived, not when it is born. If the sex happened when she was 16 then you have committed a crime and may be charged. If she was 17 at the time then you are in the clear. It will be very easy to tell when the sex occurred.

If the baby was born more than 9 months after she turned 17 then it's not an issue. If the baby was born one month after then it is evidence that they engaged in sexual intercourse while she was a minor and he could face criminal charges.
Its not illegal. The age of consent in most states is 16. Be sure all parties talk about this situation together to work together for the good of the child so that they grow up happy, healthy and with family.
