Duo happened 12 years ago and I didn't not report it. work in non union position in pa university. They have not run another background check on me since I was hired 30 years ago. They are conducting background checks soon. Handbook states it is grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination from employment.

If you're not a union or contract employee, you can likely be fired for any (or no) reason, unless your handbook creates some sort of implied contract of employment for you. If you have no other convictions, you may be able to get the record expunged. It depends on the type of conviction, whether you have other convictions, and what the expungement law is in PA. You could try to hustle to do that before the background check.
