I don't know what you mean by "the right legality." But a Colorado attorney can defend you in Colorado on the extradition matter.

Only a Colorado lawyer can defend the extradition issue in Colorado courts. However, the underlying charge once Florida brings him back to Florida much be fought by a Florida licensed attorney. Also, Colorado won't let him go until his Colorado charges are through.

A Colorado attorney can help with the extradition and Colorado drug charge issues (whether state or federal) and can enter an appearance in the federal court in Florida with a local attorney allowing them to enter pro hoc vice. You should consider talking to a Florida attorney about handling the federal matter in Florida. Many of us Colorado attorneys handle federal matters in other states, but only if it is worth the travel expense, etc., to the client.

The Colorado issues need to be addressed by a Colorado licensed attorney. the Florida issues if you are returned to Florida will need to be examined by a Florida authorized attorney. As my colleague correctlt states, Florida enables attorneys licensed in other US States to pro hoc into Florida and that may be done when needed. I cannot comment on the capacity of any foreign attorney to obtain authorization in Florida and such would be done through the Florida court with jurisdiction and under the review of the Florida Bar.
