Police was called by my wife who was outside my home and when the police came she opened the hallway door to let police in. Police then knocked on apartment door and i opened it. Police states that i was holding my wife hostage and at this time she was never in the apartment. The police report states that when they knocked my wife screamed out to the officer that i was holding her hostage! This never happened and my wife was never in the apartment when police arrived.
So, what did you want to know.
Immediately contact a NY defense attorney and stay offline with any more recitations of the events (this is an open public forum that could be used against you).

I don't see a question, but a local criminal lawyer should be retained to fight it. has a great "find a lawyer" tool to locate a local lawyer. Good luck.
You need to hire a local criminal defense lawyer immediately. I am also going to change the category on this question from "civil rights" to "criminal defense" so those who do that kind of work are more likely to see it. good luck

I presume you were arrested based on these allegations and should have been appointed an attorney or in the process of looking for one. These are serious allegations and your wife's claims may now be corroborated by the officer's testimony. You need to hire an attorney and discuss among other things why the police officers would lie about what happened. Then the attorney can try to obtain a copy of the police radio communications to either proove that the police are lying or show that their actions were not consistent with what they claimed happened.
Hire a criminal attorney as soon as possible to protect your rights. Also I agree with one of my colleagues here. Do not speak to law enforcement. Get an attorney to make your case, and do not post the fact s of your own matter on public sites where there is a possibility of having that information comeback to be used against you.
