What will happen if I just leave the country without paying the mortgage in New Jersey?

My ex wife and I bought a house about 2 years ago. I am the only one on the agreement to pay the mortgage. We divorced a year ago and I agreed to continually to pay the mortgage until the house is sold and the balance of the money will go to my ex wife. Now, the house is still on the market but I am tired to pay the mortgage. What will happen if I stop to pay the mortgage? Can I quit my current job and move to a different state to find a new job? Or can I just quit my current job and move back to the country I came from? Will the house go on foreclosure? what will happen to my ex because her name is on title also but she is not working anymore? Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

No one here will advise you on how to avoid an order of the Court. Other states will enforce any order regarding the divorce, and she can sue you for anything she loses as a result of your non-compliance. Depending on the country other countries may or may not honor this.

I'm sorry but this is a mess. You should honor the obligations the Court has imposed on you. If you are otherwise eligible for a bankruptcy, you should confer with a local lawyer to explore those options-there are a couple of options in bankruptcy. Alternatively, maybe you can modify the divorce decree and figure something out that works for you and your ex---
