Your question requires a bit of clarification: have you already entered a plea or is this the current offer? With any criminal case, it is always best to get an attorney who specializes in the area of law for which you are charged. They will know the particular nuances of the court system, the particular charges, and will know precisely what the people have to prove to gain a conviction. Depending on the facts of your case, this could or could not be a great offer. However, you would need someone to take a close look at the facts of the case in order to make that determination. It would be wise to reach out to attorneys specializing in these kinds of cases.

without access to the police reports and your attorney's notes re: his/her interview of your complainant girlfriend and of any other witness to the event, it is very difficult to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your self-defense argument. It cannot hurt to seek a second opinion, but if you have already entered the plea and have been sentenced, it is likely too late.

First, you should have hire a criminal defense attorney. This is a criminal case. Second, have you taken this plea? Or is this the offer on the table? If it is the offer on the table, I suggest going to a defense attorney for a second opinion. That she was the initial aggressor may or may not help you. If she slapped you and you beat her into the ground, she was the initial aggressor, but you are nonetheless guilty. If she stabbed you with a knife and all you did was twist her arm to take the knife, you are in much better shape. It can be very difficult for the male to argue self defense in these cases, but it is not impossible. In any event it is very fact specific. Without knowing these facts, which you should not post online, we can't tell you if that is or is not a good deal. Speak privately with a criminal defense attorney.
