YES. You can and you should report it. Any case may or may not be capable of prosecution. Make your report and let the authorities deal with it. That's their job. I'm sorry this happened to you.

Yes you can and should report it, so that the report can be forwarded to the DA for prosecution. I join my colleague Mr. Finnecy in expressing my sincere regrets that you had to suffer this indignity and hope you sought counseling.

While I share the sympathy the other attorneys have expressed. I am concerned. You definitely should report it. My concern is that you want to pin it on the person who is currently facing those charges because they "resemble the person" who did it to you. While I cannot be sure if that is the same person, please do not pin it on someone who resembles another. If you are not sure it is the same person, do not allege that it is. Just as what happened to you, was unfair to you, pinning it on someone due to resemblance would be unfair to them. I only bring this up because of the language that you used, when you may have just as easily indicated it WAS the same person.

I agree with the other commentators that this should be reported and let the proper authorities investigate. Best of Luck.

Yes. You can and should report it. He may or may not be prosecuted for your assault but prosecutors and judges will take what happened to you into account in dealing with him.

Yes, you can certainly still report the assault to the police. Suggest making a trip down to your local police station to file a report. They will need to investigate your claims and forward the information to the DA's office. Best of luck.
