My husband and I separated about a year and a half ago, well somebody showed up at my work with a paper saying we are being sued for x amount of money, turns out it is all his bills but since we are still married they are coming after us both is there anything I can do to fight this?

It depends on whether you are legally separated or not. It depends on whether you have filed for divorce and whether the petition includes a "hold harmless" allegation. It depends on whether there is a prenuptial agreement. There may be a way to protect yourself from the claims, but there are too many unknown factors to answer that question on this forum.
