Do I have to pay for parking tickets if my car was impounded and sold for those tickets?

I received street sweeping and registration not displayed tickets (5 total) over the course of about a month, which was also when I lost my job. My car was flagged for the tickets, impounded, and then sold. Does the sale of the car cover the cost of my tickets or do I still need to pay them? If I still need to pay them, is it possible to get the fee waved for financial hardship?

Yes. You incurred the tickets. Having the fees waived for financial hardship, if allowed, would effectively permit illegal parking for financial hardship.

Yes you still need to pay the tickets. There is no financial hardship.

You need to pay the tickets. It's meant to hurt--it's called punishment. It's also meant to deter you from parking carelessly in the future. Pay the piper or things will only get worse with late fees, etc.
