If a personal services contract does not have an assignability clause, can it be freely assigned?

there is no assignment clause in a contract I have, so I'd like to assign it elsewhere. Can I do this?

By its very definition a personal services contract is usually not assignable or delegable because it involves services to perform some service by one person specifically for the benefit of another person. So if a lawyer agrees to represent a client, the client cannot assign the services to someone else, who is not a client; and likewise the lawyer cannot delegate the work to another lawyer to perform on behalf of the client. The only time such agreements for personal services are assignable and delegable is when the parties all agree. So the assignment or delegation has to occur with the consent of the other non-parties.
