Who can sign my company's LLC-12 for me?

Can I just have my lawyer sign my LLC-12 for my LLC or do I need to sign it myself? I know it's basic but he seems to think that he can't sign it but won't give me a good reason. It bugs me. Who is right? Im asking because I want him to just put it in his calendar to take care of for me so i don't forget in the future.

Your attorney could do it but may not wish to assume the risk of malpractice for forgetting.

I agree with Mr. Doland. As your agent, your attorney could sign for you, but probably does not want the potential legal exposure if he misses a filing date.
