Yes you can file a workers compensation claim for all kinds of benefits but you must realize that as long as you return to work, the value of any case you make is not very large. There is no money for pain and suffering, and proving that the air made you sick will be extremely difficult. But, as far as your fall and head injury, you can claim all kinds of specialists and tests from Worker's Compensation. Big cases are those where the injured worker cannot return to any type of work after the doctors have released them. If you can return to work,it does not matter whether you continue to suffer with headaches, pains or difficulties working… you still have a small case.

The insurance companies fight more about the *cause* of an injured worker's current need for medical care than *what* specific care the the injured worker might need. Unless the insurance carrier in your situation has already stated that they accept responsibility for your condition, then yours is going to be an uphill battle, because proving that your medical conditions were caused by environmental factors is extremely difficult under Florida law, and most carriers will deny these "exposure" claims out of hand. They do so just because they know that denying the claim pushes the burden of proof onto the injured worker to present "clear and convincing evidence," which is impossible in many cases. You should talk to an experienced workers' comp attorney in your area soon, though, because there are ways to address your situation that avoid that heightened evidentiary burden.
I want to know who was responsible for the condition of the carpet that made you fall. Was it your employer or was it a company they hire to install/clean/maintain the carpet. If it is a rental space, then perhaps the landlord is responsible for failing to maintain the flooring in a safe condition. If it is anyone other than your employer who is at fault, then you could have a valid personal injury claim as well as a workers' comp claim. Personal injury claims do not limit the injury victim to a predetermined number of weeks of lost wages, and they permit compensation for intangible damages like pain and suffering, mental anguish, and loss of the capacity for the enjoyment of life - past and future. Plus, an injury victim does not have to resign his/her job in order to settle a personal injury claim.
